KVK Longding conducted a training programme on “Scientific Cultivation of Black Rice” Kanubari, 27th June,2019 .

The KVK Longding conducted a training programme on “Scientific Cultivation of Black Rice” at Kanubari with 22 nos of participants. At the outset, Dr A. Kirankumar Singh, i/c Senior Scientist & Head stressed on the importance and benefits of this particular rice in regards to health and economic aspects. Dr Singh discussed in detail about the packages of practices to be followed for higher production of this particular rice. He also informed the participants why this particular rice is becoming so popular in today’s world and requested them to open their eyes to grasp the opportunities through black rice cultivation. The participants enthusiastically interacted with the expert and clarified their doubts in detail. And he suggested the participants to produce huge quantity of black and the surplus can be marketed by linkage through KVK Longding. At the beginning, Dr Senpon Ngomle, SMS (Plant Protection) welcomed all the participants in the training and interacted with them in regards to insect pests and diseases of the crops. Afterwards Dr Tilling Tayo, SMS (Animal Science) also interacted regarding the rearing of livestocks in view of the organic production of black rice with the use of animal manure, health care and management of livestocks in order to rear them profitably. Lastly Dr Tayo tendered the vote of thanks to the participants.
